Ron Getz, guitarist and composer, studied at Berklee College of Music and the New England Conservatory of Music.

Jazz

He has performed with a variety of jazz greats, including Arthur Blythe, Billy Hart, John Scofield, Steve Grossman, Bill Evans, Branford Marsalis and Marvin “Smitty” Smith (from the Jay Leno Tonight Show Band).

His CD release Ego State received critical acclaim in Jazz Times and Down Beat.

He has recorded and produced numerous CD projects under his own name and with other artists in the jazz, blues, rock and pop genres.

Blues

He has also shared the stage with blues greats B.B. King, Koko Taylor, Matt “Guitar” Murphy, Jeff Healy, Johnnie Lang and Kenny Wayne Sheppard.

Rock

Ron has shared the bill with Edgar Winter, Leon Russell, Eric Burden, Electric Light Orchestra and Jefferson Starship.

He has performed throughout the U.S. and Europe and is one the hardest working and busiest musicians in the Traverse City area.

You can find Ron playing all over the region  with many  the area’s best singers and players  performing dance and listening music ranging from Motown, Pop, Blues, Funk, Swing and Jazz.
